This gorgeous sterling silver Thunderbird, made by Kimari Somers, features a sweet piece of Kingman turquoise surrounded by expertly stamped details and topped with a smooth bail. It measures 3-5/8 inches tall (including the bail) and 2-1/2 inches wide. The bail opening measures 14mm and is ready to hold your favorite chain or beads. Listing is for pendant only.

One of five kids, Kimari Sing was born in 1961 in Glendale, California with a diverse heritage of Native Hawaiian, Chinese, German, Irish and French. She met Al Somers (Pascua Yaqui) in 1983 and began learning silversmithing under his tutelage shortly after. She recalls becoming immediately hooked on the process of inlay and says "that was my thing," but embraced anything she was given to work on. Kimari and Al moved all over the Southwest with their kids but finally settled in Lake Havasu, Arizona in 1992 where they continued to handcraft old school jewelry that could be found with Ortegas, Garlands, Peyote Bird and private collectors in Japan. Al passed away in 2016, but Kimari has continued to create beautiful sterling and turquoise jewelry in the same meticulous manner that the love of her life taught her 40 years ago. While she still turns out many of their original designs, she also draws inspiration for new work from her love of the natural world. Kimari currently resides in the Sonoran Desert with her dog Rosie, her Sulcata tortoise Sheila and her cat Chloe.

Actual colors may vary slightly due to lighting, screen display and/or the way color is seen by an individual and varies due to genuine stones. Photos are taken in varying degrees of light in order to exhibit color shifts typical to turquoise.

This listing is for the item named in the title only. Additional photo props or styling pieces are not included.

Handcrafted/Handmade work is unique in its design, which means that imperfections will most often be part of an item’s character. Inconsistencies will occur by nature, which makes each piece truly one of a kind; an artist is not a machine.
